Octavio Medellín was an influential sculptor and teacher who worked in Texas for seven decades.

Born in Mexico, Medellín immigrated with his family to Texas in 1920. He became a noted sculptor who mastered a wide range of media. Medellín also worked as an art instructor for over four decades, developing a devoted following of students.
